One evening we came home to find that a neighbour’s cat (and I use the possessive VERY loosely) had moved in with her 3 kittens. They looked undernourished so we brought milk for them. In the time it took us to go to the kitchen and pour the milk into a bowl, 3 more kittens appeared! It was a kitten cuteness overload and we pretty much spent the entire night playing and feeding and photographing these little babies.
We knew the neighbours were never going to care for them properly and the kittens were here to stay so we decided to try to get loving homes for them. Photos were taken and uploaded to Facebook to share with friends and family. Then we went to check on them and counted an additional kitten! So one little first-time mummy made 7 kittens in one litter and she was obviously trying her best with them.
There were 2 kittens I instantly fell in love with and claimed them as mine! We couldn’t keep them though but I refused to acknowledge that so when the time came for them to go to a home, I was devastated.
It’s been a very emotional 2 weeks for me to say the least.
Six kittens have been adopted into loving homes and the last will be going soon. The best part was that the 6 were adopted in pairs so they won’t be lonely. Each call and visit I had about the kittens was difficult for me since I didn’t want them to go and after each pair left, I cried like a baby for hours after!
I’m one emotionally drained Wench!
