Butterfly bridal shower cupcakes
I got an order for red velvet cupcakes and a small cake for a bridal shower. The bride-to-be loves red velvet and the colour orange, the main colour for her wedding.
The cake was covered with freshly grated coconut. Coconut makes everything look good.
Given free reign with the design, I decided to go with butterflies. They’re cute and bridal-y. Right?
Only setback, I had to make my own. It was a pretty time consuming process but well worth the effort don’t you think?
And since I love LOVE glitter, I added some gold luster dust to these guys.

Are those butterflies made with chocolate or icing? They are so beautiful! I’d love to try that but don’t know how!

I used royal icing to make these but you could use candy melts as well. And the book Hello, Cupcake has detailed instructions.
