A little story about my Mom

I want to share a very personal little story today, something I still remember from my childhood.
When I was growing up, my family didn’t have a lot. Things many other children could take for granted I just never had. As a child you don’t always realise these things, but I can look back now and see just how hard my mom worked, and how much she sacrificed just so I would not have to go without.
But you know, even with all the hard work and long hours, she still always had time for me. I am an only child and my mom was my best friend growing up. She still is.
I remember we used to bake together. (Cupcake Wench-in-training). And she would make up all sorts of names for the cakes. I’ll never forget when she named one after me. I was the proudest little girl in the world. I told everyone I could that my mommy made a cake named Rehana’s cake.
Can you imagine the excitement of a five year old little girl who’s had something named after her!
You’re probably wondering what flavour Rehana’s cake was too.
It was sponge cake. 🙂
See, that’s what a mom does. That’s what my mom did, and still does, every day. She makes her daughter feel like the most important, most special kid in the whole world. Even when she doesn’t have very much to do it with.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom. I love you!
